History

AMOG stands for "Australian Marine & Offshore Group", which describes our founding areas of engineering expertise. AMOG Consulting was started some 19 years ago based in Melbourne, but now has offices in Perth and Houston.

AMOG Consulting was formed in October 1991 by its 5 founding Principals; Dr. Andrew Potts, Prof. John Hinwood, Prof. Paul Grundy, Prof. Rob Melchers, and Mr. Malcom Rowe. The founding principle of AMOG was to provide leading engineering solutions. Over time, this strategy proven to be successful and has allowed the company to grow and expand both its range of services and the markets to which they were offered. In 1997, AMOG expanded its base of operations by opening the Perth Office. This office was set up to solidify AMOG's presence in the large WA mining, minerals, offshore oil & gas and defence markets. In 2006, AMOG established an office in Houston Texas, U.S.A and permanent staff in Sydney. In 2007 an Adelaide presence was established and the company plans to continue this growth through further expansion.
 
The Board and Senior Management
AMOG maintains a policy of including a number of Non-Executive Directors on its Board, including the role of Chairman being filled by a Non-Executive, to provide independent oversight of the Company's activities. These Non-Executive Directors also provide valuable expertise and insights drawn from their previous careers from industry, government or academia.
