  • Renewable Energy Engineer (Cornwall, UK) (Full-Time)

    AMOG is looking for a Renewable Energy Engineer to be based in Falmouth (Cornwall) in the UK. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor, Masters or PhD in either Mechatronics, Mechanical, Ocean, Renewables or Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline.

    The position will require an initial business introduction and technical training in either the USA or Australia and, once this overseas orientation (which may last up to 12 weeks) has been completed, will be based in the Falmouth Office, working on tasks under the supervision of senior engineers. The successful applicant should be willing to travel overseas and within the UK for work if necessary.

    Responsibilities and Duties for this role include:

    - Research and Develop ideas aimed at optimising the WEC design.
    - Development of the WEC hull design to maximise energy transfer from the waves to power take off system.
    - Research and Development activities to be carried out using numerical tools and supplemented by physical wave tank testing results.
    - Inspection activities (training will be provided)
    - Being able to run a project schedule, produce reports / document control to assist with ensuring projects stay on track and meet targets.

    Required Knowledge, Education & Aptitudes:

    - Applicants must be educated to degree level, either Bachelor, Masters or PhD in either Mechanical, Ocean or Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline 
    - Have a genuine interest in renewable energy
    - Be reliable and have excellent time management skills
    - Be highly motivated
    - Have great attention to detail
    - Willing to travel for work

  • IT System Administrator/ IT Infrastructure Support Engineer (Full-Time)

    We are expanding our IT Services Department and are seeking an experienced (3-4 years) Systems Administrator to support the delivery of IT Services to the business.

    Based in our office in Notting Hill, Melbourne, this position will report directly to the IT Services Manager and requires the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

    Mandatory:

    - 3-4 Years of experience working as Systems Engineer supporting IT data centre infrastructure.
    - Ability to manage a range of data centre equipment and the IT services offered by it. This includes a track record of successfully ensuring the uptime, health, performance of all backend devices meets requirements.
    - Strong skills and active experience in managing Apple environment, Windows, Linux, AWS, VMware, Goole Suit, NAS-NetApp, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Antivirus, UTM devices, Backup Servers- Symantec (Veritas) Backup Exec and Bacula, System Centre (SCCM), VOIP system, Hosted web environment, and Licensing Server.
    - Experience in providing support for issues escalated from front-end/help-desk IT support (for end point desktop devices mainly comprising Apple Macs, OSX Server, Windows and Linux clients).
    - Soft Skills – Strong documentation skills, Relentless Trouble-shooter, Smooth communicator to understand and manage user expectations, Ready to adapt changes quickly, Seeker for constant improvement.
    - Full working rights in Australia

    The following skills and expereince are also desirable:

    - Formal training and/or Certificates in Networking, Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Office 365, AWS, and ITIL.

  • Software Assurance Engineer (Full-Time)

    AMOG is looking for an engineer with experience in software safety and software assurance. The successful applicant would provide software assurance, software safety engineering and independent software safety assessment services for complex safety critical applications across a number of industries including transport, mining, and Defence.

    This role is currently Melbourne-based, though AMOG has offices in Adelaide and Perth and these locations could be considered for the right applicant. Depending on project requirements, interstate (and possibly international) travel may be required.

    The successful applicant will posses:

    - A tertiary qualification in software engineering (post-graduate qualifications would be highly regarded particularly of an assurance nature)
    - A minimum of five years post-graduate experience in software or systems engineering environment
    - At least three years spent in a software assurance role, or a high-integrity software development role
    - Practitioner level knowledge of one or more of the following standards: IEC 61508-3, EN50128, or RTCA DO-178B/C
    - An understanding of Safety PLC's and/or micro-controller based architectures used in safety critical environments is highly desirable
    - Capability to independently lead software assurance workshops and conduct software assurance assessments to one of the standards defined above
    - Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present to large and varied audiences.
    - Full working rights in Australia

    A current Australian Defence security clearance, while not essential, would be an advantage.
